Complete guide to abilities and skill combinations in Archero 2

Skills are core abilities that shape gameplay for the duration of each run. They are acquired through leveling up, special encounters, or automatically in modes like Arena.

Damage Calculation

Damage uses a hybrid additive and multiplicative system across three main categories:

  • Attack Power (ATK PWR): Affects all damage sources as baseline damage N × ATK
  • Main Weapon DMG: Applies only to the non-elemental portion of main weapon damage; excludes bow/crossbow explosion damage
  • DMG: Mixed category affecting various sources; some skills affect many sources (Swift Arrow, Tracking Eye), some only one

Damage Example

Giant's Strength +20% ATK with Weapon Enchantment -30% results in 1 + 0.2 - 0.3 = 0.9, a 10% damage decrease.

Adding Swift Arrow -20% DMG and Front Arrow -15% main weapon DMG results in:

(1 + 0.2 - 0.3) × (1 - 0.2) × (1 - 0.15) = 0.612

a 38.8% decrease for main weapon damage per arrow.

Attack Speed Calculation

Attack Speed (AS) uses a breakpoint system, where AS only increases at specific thresholds. Different weapon types (Bow, Staff, Claws) have unique progressions.

  • Weapon Enchantment applies a ~25-30% AS penalty but enhances AS gained from other skills, offsetting penalty above ~225% AS increase from other sources
  • Charged skills multiply existing AS: Charged Arrow (0.7x), Energy Ring/Beam (0.6x)

Skill Providers

Skills are obtained from various sources:

  • Valkyrie: Appears on stages ending with 5, timed chapters, or after rooms in Sky Tower, offering Legendary, Epic, and Rare skills
  • Devil: Appears after boss fights without damage or other conditions; offers aggressive high-damage and defensive skills at HP cost
  • Angel: Appears on stages ending with 9 or timed intervals; provides healing, defense, and support skills

Skill Rarity

Skills come in multiple rarities:

  • Legendary
  • Epic
  • Rare
  • Fine

Each rarity offers unique buffs and playstyle effects.
